Unbridled Gambling Sessions Persist
Gamescom 2019 Expands and Elevates with New Features
Prepare for an exciting gaming extravaganza as Gamescom, Europe's largest video game event, returns to Cologne, Germany this August. This year, the exhibition area has been expanded to a colossal 210,000 square meters, marking a 5% increase compared to last year.
The annual event, which attracts visitors from over a hundred countries, has secured Holland as its partner country for 2019. Over 1,000 exhibitors from around 50 different countries are expected, offering a diverse range of gaming experiences.
One of the most anticipated highlights is the "Opening Night Live" international opening show, debuting on August 19th at 8 PM. Industry stars, including Hideo Kojima, will grace the stage, providing first insights into his new video game "Death Stranding," set for release in November.
The "Opening Night Live" show is aimed at all gamers worldwide, offering an overview of the many gaming highlights for those who can't make it to Cologne. It will be broadcast live in English and eight other languages on all major streaming platforms. Approximately 1,500 fans are expected to attend the show, with Geoff Keighley, moderator and producer of the "Game Awards," presenting the highlights and world premieres of the fair week.
Keighley has promised updates and revelations about highly anticipated games, as well as new projects being announced at the show. In addition, a new "Event Arena" will be introduced, offering eSports tournaments, game presentations, shows, and a special program for entertainment and relaxation.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to try out and exchange ideas with developers about "indie games" in the Indie Village. Wider aisles and additional catering and lounge areas are being added to improve the visitor experience, with Felix Falk, CEO of the game, the association of the German games industry, stating that it's particularly important for them this year to improve the experience for all fans.
Falk emphasised that Gamescom 2019, starting with the international Opening Night Live, is not only the most exciting but also the most relaxed event yet. So, whether you're a seasoned gamer or a newcomer to the world of video games, Gamescom 2019 promises to be an unmissable event on the gaming calendar.
