Last week, the final regular meeting took place for the project "Co2ntracting: build the future!", which falls under the Digital Dialogue with Municipalities and States. The focus of this project is on the implementation of energy-saving contracting projects.

In a separate development, the Annual Conference of the Renewable Energy Market Offensive is set to take place on September 24. The specific organization hosting this conference and the registration process are yet to be detailed.

The city of Hagen serves as a blueprint for the digitalization of municipalities for climate protection and energy transition, under the project Klimakommune.digital. This city's efforts demonstrate the potential for digital solutions in promoting renewable energy and combating climate change.

Cross-border district heating projects offer diverse socio-economic benefits. However, technical, regulatory, organizational, and financial challenges often hinder the cost-effective development and implementation of such projects. The Decarbonization of Industrial Process Heat through District Heating project aims to address these challenges, particularly focusing on the win-win potentials for the process industry and district heating, as well as on the role of municipalities as key actors in strategic energy planning.

A study titled "Municipalities as the Central Implementation Instance of a Successful Energy Transition" emphasizes the key role of municipalities in implementing a successful energy transition. This is further supported by the city of Hagen's efforts in digitalizing its municipal operations for climate protection and energy transition.

The upcoming Renewable Energy Conference will discuss how cross-border RE projects can be better supported and implemented. The conference agenda includes registration at 13:15 PM, a welcome and keynote at 13:45 PM, presentations of lighthouse projects and discussion at 14:10 PM, a break at 15:45 PM, a pitch session at 16:15 PM, a panel discussion at 17:00 PM, and a reception at 18:00 PM.

Germany shares borders with nine neighboring countries, and over 150 million EU citizens live in border regions. This underscores the potential for cross-border renewable energy projects and the need for effective strategies to support their implementation.

The ESC Orientation Consultation and ESC Implementation Consultation are guides detailing the first and second phases of implementing an energy-saving contracting project, respectively. These resources provide valuable insights for project developers, municipalities, local communities, energy companies, and experts who are part of the conference's target audience.

The conference partners are yet to be specified, but the event promises to bring together key stakeholders in the renewable energy sector to discuss and strategize on cross-border projects and the energy transition.
