Unauthorized Pursuit: Driving Without a Valid License - Forced Blood Draw
In the early hours of July 23, a dramatic incident unfolded on the federal road (B) 477 from Bergheim towards Niederaußem. A 18-year-old woman was stopped by police after ignoring signals to stop and fleeing the scene in a Ford vehicle.
The woman, whose age and gender were not specified for the other passengers, was later found to have been driving without a valid license and under the influence of intoxicants. A drug test conducted on the driver showed positive results for cannabis.
The traffic division has taken up the investigation into the illegal street racing allegations. According to reports, the Ford ran two red lights in Niederaußem during the pursuit. The vehicle eventually stopped at a parking lot on Straße "Am Fischerhof" after a chase through several streets, including Werkstraße, Auenheimer Straße, Holtroper Straße, Frickestraße, Schultesgasse, and Silverbergstraße.
Three passengers and the driver were apprehended by officers after attempting to flee on foot. The ages of the three apprehended passengers are 16 (male), 16 (female), and 18 (female). A blood sample was taken by a doctor at a hospital, and a search of the Ford and the woman's phone was conducted by the officers.
The officers filed a criminal complaint against the car's owner. The woman is now facing charges for illegal street racing, driving without a valid license, and driving under the influence. The search results do not provide information about which authority owns the Ford vehicle involved in the arrest by the Rhein-Erft-Kreis police on July 23.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers and consequences of illegal street racing and driving under the influence. The traffic division's investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
