In a significant move announced earlier this week, Ultimate Poker has replaced iovation with IDology as its new player verification provider. This change comes after mounting pressure from players who requested a switch from iovation's services.
The partnership between IDology and iovation dates back to 2008, as stated in a press release at the time. In the past, iovation was Ultimate Poker's player verification provider, but it was primarily used for device-based fraud detection. IDology, on the other hand, handled the core identity verification process.
Now, with the change in partnership, IDology may be incorporating iovation's Device Reputation Service into its Ultimate Poker player verification process. This could potentially enhance the security measures in place, providing a more robust solution against fraudulent activities.
Greg Pierson, iovation's CEO, expressed his confidence in the partnership, stating that it would "significantly raise the bar for fraudsters". Despite the change, the partnership between IDology and iovation remains active, as shown on iovation's website.
It is important to note that iovation previously partnered with Absolute Poker. Verifi, another company, had originally outsourced its player verification service to iovation.
This shift in partnership is expected to bring about improvements in Ultimate Poker's player verification process, providing a more secure and efficient experience for its users.
