Ukraine issued a warning to Poland regarding unauthorized drone infiltrations
On Sunday evening, a drone incident was reported in the village of Polatycze, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. The incident was first reported by MichaΕ Stela, a journalist from Polsat News, and later confirmed at a press conference held by the regional prosecutor's office in Lublin on Monday.
According to the reports, the drone that fell in the cornfield of Polatycze had Cyrillic inscriptions, but its type was not specified. The Polish authorities believe that the country's airspace was "very likely" violated by this drone, named "Gerber," which is believed to have a Chinese engine.
Interestingly, it was reported that the drone was tracked by military systems before crossing the border and was even warned about by the Ukrainian side to Polish border guards. However, it did not carry any weapons, as confirmed by Agnieszka Kempka.
The incident in the village of Polatycze is not the only one of its kind. On Saturday, another drone incident was reported in the village of Majdan-Sielec, also in Lublin Voivodeship. The details about the type of drone involved in this incident are not known, but it is believed to have carried contraband.
In a separate incident on August 20, an unidentified object crashed in the village of Osiny, Lublin Voivodeship. This object later exploded. The day of the incident in the village of Osiny and the details about the object are similar to those of the drone incident in Polatycze, but no connection has been confirmed yet.
These incidents highlight the growing concerns about airspace violations and the potential use of drones for illegal activities in Poland. The Polish authorities are investigating these incidents thoroughly to ensure the safety and security of the country.
