Uganda's gaming operators face October 31 licence renewal deadline

Uganda's National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has opened the application window for licence renewals. The process, which runs from October 3 to October 31, 2025, applies to all gaming and lottery operators in the country. This annual exercise ensures businesses remain compliant with national regulations.

The renewal follows the guidelines set out in Section 47 of the Lotteries and Gaming Act, 2016. Operators must submit their applications through the NLGRB's online platform at www.licensing.lgrb.go.ug. Missing the deadline could disrupt business operations, as timely submission is required for regulatory approval.

The NLGRB emphasises that adherence to the submission window is essential. This step maintains legal compliance and allows businesses to continue operating without interruption. The board has not disclosed the current number of licensed companies in Uganda for 2024.

The renewal period closes on October 31, 2025, with all submissions processed through the official e-licensing system. Operators who fail to apply on time risk losing their licences. The board's process aims to uphold industry standards and regulatory oversight.
