UFC fighter Jon Jones confirms his return and sheds light on potential White House event in his upcoming schedule

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced plans for a unique event, the UFC White House card, to commemorate 250 years of American independence. This historic occasion has sparked interest among some of the UFC's top fighters, with Jon Jones and Conor McGregor leading the charge.

Initially, Jon Jones, a former dual-weight UFC champion, announced his retirement in June. However, recent developments suggest a change of heart as Jones has re-entered the UFC's drug testing pool with the intention of headlining the unprecedented bill. Despite this, Dana White, UFC president, has set Jones' odds of headlining the White House card at 'a billion to one'. White isn't willing to risk putting Jones back on the big stage so soon, given his recent retirement and past issues with drug violations.

Jones' potential opponent could be Conor McGregor, who hasn't competed since November 2021. McGregor, known for his charisma and fighting prowess, has expressed interest in headlining the historic event earlier this year. His chances of headlining the UFC White House card are significantly higher than Jon Jones, according to recent statements from Dana White. McGregor is also back in the UFC drug-testing pool and is training for a return to the Octagon.

McGregor's interest in the White House card was met with a positive response from White, who expressed his love for the idea in a DM conversation shared by McGregor. Possible fighters who could share the main event with McGregor include top contenders like Anthony Hernandez, who has recently headlined UFC events and earned multiple Performance of the Night awards, indicating his rising prominence in the UFC middleweight division.

The UFC White House card, initially targeting a July 4, 2026, date, has now shifted to a June date. With both Jon Jones and Conor McGregor in the mix, the event promises to be a spectacle, marking a significant milestone in UFC history and American independence.

Stay tuned for more updates as the UFC White House card takes shape.
