Uba Sani Disputes El-Rufai's Designation as 'My Boy', Identifies His Mentors

In the political landscape of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has maintained a steady focus on the affairs of the state, disregarding distractions from individuals or their comments. This unwavering dedication is evident in his administration's approach to various challenges, including the ongoing security concerns.

Governor Sani has refuted claims that his administration is paying ransom to bandits in troubled areas of the state. During an appearance on TVC's 'Politics on Sunday' programme, he dismissed such suggestions, emphasizing that such allegations are falsehoods spread for political gains.

The governor's commitment to the state is not a recent development. He lived and stayed in the house of the late human rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi, during the era of struggle. This experience, along with his meetings with President Bola Tinubu in 1994 at the house of Beko Ransome-Kuti, shaped his political journey.

President Tinubu and the late Fawehinmi are cited by Governor Sani as his guiding lights. Their principles of fighting for the rule of law and justice have been instrumental in his governance.

Governor Sani has also highlighted the success of community-based initiatives, particularly in Birnin Gwari. These initiatives, which are part of the state's mixed strategy of kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to insecurity, have yielded positive results.

Despite previous statements from Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, describing Uba Sani as his 'boy', the current governor has distanced himself from such characterizations. He stated that anyone suggesting otherwise is only trying to mislead the public.

In response to the violent disruption of an opposition transition committee meeting in the state, Governor Sani clarified that he will never be part of anything to stop anyone's political activities. His administration has not paid any dime to community leaders' non-kinetic strategies against insecurity.

Governor Sani, however, did not mention any individuals in his focus on Kaduna State. His attention remains squarely on the state, and he does not engage in discussions about individuals or get distracted.

In a statement regarding his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, Governor Sani stated that he does not find it necessary to respond to comments made by his predecessor. He remains focused on the task at hand, ensuring the welfare and security of the people of Kaduna State.
