Record-low German exports to the USA observed in almost 4 years - U.S.-bound German exports at a four-year low
In July, the German economy continued to be a significant player on the global stage, with the majority of its exports still directed towards the United States. However, the overall trend in German exports showed a potential decrease in exports to non-EU third countries, including China and the UK, according to the Federal Statistical Office based in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The value of goods exported to EU countries increased significantly in July, reaching 74.8 billion euros. Of this total, 52.0 billion euros were sent to Eurozone countries. The increase in exports to other EU countries compared to June was 2.5 percent, with France and the Netherlands being the main destinations besides the USA.
On the other hand, the decline in exports to China and the United Kingdom was due to weaker demand and ongoing economic uncertainties in these markets. The value of goods exported to these countries in July was not specified, but it is known that the exports to the U.S. reached their lowest level in nearly four years, amounting to 11.1 billion euros.
The value of goods exported to non-EU third countries, including China and the UK, in June was 55.3 billion euros. It's important to note that no new information about the majority of German exports was provided in the most recent report.
Despite the mixed results, the increase in exports to EU countries and the continued strong relationship with the United States indicate a resilient German economy in the face of global economic challenges. The Federal Statistical Office will continue to monitor and report on these trends in the coming months.
