Two individuals, identified as killers, allegedly concealed themselves among the crowds following their brutal slaying of a man at an Underground station.
In a shocking turn of events, two men, Kevin Nguyen and Milumo Pedrinho, both 21, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the senseless murder of Ervin Baraku. The crime took place on July 23, 2024, in the Seven Sisters area, near Seven Sisters Underground station, in London.
The victim, 33-year-old Ervin Baraku, sadly passed away a week later on July 30. The tragic incident unfolded when Pedrinho, reportedly armed with a large knife, chased Ervin Baraku into the station. Nguyen, who was following Pedrinho, joined in the pursuit, resulting in Ervin Baraku falling down the stairs.
The attack was captured on CCTV, and Pedrinho was seen brandishing the knife during the incident. Screaming and shouting were heard, causing alarm among the bystanders. Ervin Baraku collapsed at the top of the stairs following the attack. Paramedics were swiftly called to the scene and took Ervin to the hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
Nguyen was arrested the day after the attack by British Transport Police (BTP) officers at his home address. Pedrinho was apprehended a few days later on July 27.
Both Nguyen and Pedrinho pleaded guilty to the murder charges. Nguyen was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 18 years, while Pedrinho received a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years.
Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn expressed hope that the sentences serve as a reminder that there is no place for violence on the railway network. He stated, "This attack was senseless and tragic. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Ervin Baraku. I hope these sentences provide some comfort and serve as a reminder that there is no place for violence on our transport network."
No prior context was provided regarding the nature of the altercation or the relationship between the victims and the perpetrators. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
