Yesterday evening, two tragic road accidents occurred near Dresden. The first incident took place on the S170 highway near Bahretal (Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains). For unknown reasons, a driver veered off the road and crashed through a fence and a railing. The vehicle caught fire, and the driver was trapped inside, unable to escape the blaze. His identity has yet to be confirmed by the authorities. The entire incident is currently being investigated by police. The estimated damage to property is approximately 60,000 euros.
In the second accident, a 36-year-old cyclist, using a pedelec, lost control of his bike on a bend in Dohna (Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains) and crashed into a kerb. He sustained severe head injuries and perished at the scene of the accident. The reason for the man's loss of control remains unclear.
A police spokesperson provided the details of these tragic accidents.
