Two Arrested Over Theft from Luxury Store on Las Vegas Strip

A pair of thieves find themselves in legal trouble after stealing expensive goods from high-end shops along the Las Vegas Strip.

The criminal duo targeted Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora, making off with luxurious items from brands like Drio, Versace, and Ferragamo during a criminal spree that lasted from June to September. The stolen merchandise, valued at thousands of dollars, was taken in a complex scheme masterminded by these alleged criminals.

On September 22, police caught up with the suspects, Naisha Adams, 36, and Taurean Henderson, 38, at Saks Fifth Avenue located at 3200 Las Vegas Boulevard South. The police alleged that Adams tried to steal items worth almost $2,300 from the store's men's department. Adams purportedly picked a Versace hoodie, a Ferragamo belt, a Versace belt, and a Versace bodysuit, while Henderson stuffed the items into Adams' Saks shopping bag. When confronted by the store's security guards, the two attempted to escape, heading towards a car waiting for them outside the store.

They were quickly captured but managed to lose their accomplices in the getaway vehicle. The pair was taken into custody, both being booked at Clark County Detention Center.

As LVMPD officers delved deeper into the case, they uncovered a larger theft ring. The authorities hypothesized that Adams had a pattern of stealing from upscale stores during at least six thefts. She would then hand over the stolen goods to a fence, who would in turn, resell them.

The day before the arrest, Adams sneaked out with three pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses, two pairs of Loewe sunglasses, and a Versace belt and sweatshirt from the Saks store, worth $1,303. These items were placed in a shopping bag and then transferred into a nearby car.

Additionally, on June 9, Adams allegedly nabbed six Wa cosmetics valued at $2,335 from Sephora located at 6671 Las Vegas Boulevard South. More thefts occurred on July 17, where she snatched $1,146 worth of YSL cosmetics from the same Sephora store. Two days later, she allegedly took $2,113 worth of Valentino, YSL, Dior, Gucci, Armani, and Natasha Denona beauty products, also from the same location. Then on July 29, she allegedly swiped $1,124 of Dior, Versace, and YSL makeup, the police said.

Adams faces charges of participating in a retail theft ring, nine counts of business burglary, and three counts of theft. While Henderson is charged with participating in a theft ring, four counts of business burglary, theft, and drug possession.

Prosecutors have taken up the cases, but the identity of the fence selling the stolen items or the suspects in the getaway car remains unknown.
