Twenty years of football club TSG 05 Bamberg
TSG 05 Bamberg Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Congratulations and Promises of Continued Support
Last weekend marked a significant milestone for TSG 05 Bamberg as they celebrated their 20th anniversary. The sports club, located in the heart of Bamberg, has been a beacon of broad-spectrum sports in the city since its formation two decades ago through the merger of VfL Tb Jahn 1888 Bamberg and TV 1860 Bamberg.
Mayor Jonas Glüsenkamp and Gabriele Kepic, the school and sports representative, congratulated TSG 05 on this momentous occasion. In his speech, Glüsenkamp praised TSG 05 as the ideal example of a broad-spectrum sports club, commending its role in integration and its status as a role model for successful club work, especially in youth and broad-spectrum sports.
Glüsenkamp also promised continued support for the further development of TSG 05 at Hainwehr. As a symbolic gesture, he handed over two Fairtrade footballs to TSG 05's club president, Harald Kobold. These footballs were intended to strengthen TSG 05's future prospects regarding infrastructure.
In recent years, TSG 05 has made significant investments. They have added a six-lane bowling alley, a gymnastics room, and improved sanitary and changing facilities. These additions, along with the solar panel system in their clubhouse that provides hot water, have contributed to the club's growth and development.
TSG 05 boasts approximately 1,600 members from 50 different nations. Over 700 of these members are children and young people. The club offers a wide range of sports, including classical disciplines like gymnastics, football, and basketball, as well as Asian martial arts.
As the first fusion club in Bamberg, TSG 05 has played a crucial role in the city's sports landscape. Their 20th anniversary was a celebration not only of their past achievements but also a look towards a promising future. The gifts received, including the Fairtrade footballs, serve as a reminder of the community's support and faith in TSG 05's continued success.
