Trump's self-proclaimed 'shaman' from the January 6 events has turned against the former president
In a surprising turn of events, Jake Angeli-Chansley, also known as the QAnon Shaman, has distanced himself from former President Donald Trump after his involvement in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots. Angeli-Chansley was among several rioters who were pardoned by Trump when he re-entered office in January 2025.
However, his change of heart towards Trump has not gone unnoticed. On social media, reactions range from "Trump lost the guy who entered the Capitol and went to jail for him," to "The Shaman is even over this President." Some even go as far as saying, "This is Wild...The MAGA Base has Completely Shifted away from Trump," and "If he losing the J6 people he really (has) no support base left."
Angeli-Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the Capitol riots. In a tweet, he expressed his disapproval towards Trump, stating "Oh yeah & F**k Israel! And F**k Donald Trump!"
This shift in stance comes amidst a wave of criticism from high-profile members of Trump's MAGA base, including Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Elon Musk, over the Jeffrey Epstein files scandal. One argument made is that "The Epstein files may have saved America."
As of recent reports, Angeli-Chansley's current political views focus more on personal spirituality, and he has distanced himself from previous extremist ideologies. It remains to be seen how this change in perspective will affect the broader MAGA movement. Some observers have commented, "MAGA unravelling fast."
