The Ministry of Railways has given the green light for a final location survey of a new railway line in Tripura. The proposed route, stretching around 14 kilometres, will link Jirania rail yard with Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex. Authorities expect the survey to cost approximately Rs 42 lakh. Bodhjungnagar stands as one of Tripura's major industrial and commercial hubs. The area's industrial complex covers over 535 acres, hosting multiple facilities and production units. A direct rail connection is set to speed up goods transport and boost efficiency.

The upcoming survey will examine the terrain and technical requirements in detail. The proposed railway falls within West Tripura district. Once operational, the line is anticipated to enhance industrial activity and streamline trade movement across the region.

The new railway link aims to improve connectivity between Jirania and Bodhjungnagar. Faster goods transport could support local industries and strengthen Tripura's trade networks. The final survey marks a key step before construction begins.
