In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has suspended Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh with immediate effect, as per a High Court order passed on August 29 by Registrar General Arun Bhardwaj.

Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh, an officer of the Delhi Higher Judicial Service, is currently barred from leaving Delhi during his suspension. He will need to obtain prior permission from the competent authority before any travel outside the city.

The competent authority who must grant permission for Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh to leave Delhi is typically a higher judicial or administrative authority overseeing the judge's jurisdiction. This could be the Chief Justice of the relevant High Court or the appropriate government department responsible for judicial permissions.

The reason for Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh's suspension is not specified in the High Court order. During his suspension, Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh's headquarters will be the office of Principal District & Sessions Judge, South, Saket, New Delhi. It is also mentioned that disciplinary action against Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh is being contemplated.
