Trendy Betting Firm Includes Conventional Sports Wagers in Expansion Strategy

Betr is all set to broaden its horizons!

This US-based up-and-coming startup, which debuted in Ohio back in January with a focus on in-game markets (micro-betting), made a big announcement Wednesday afternoon. They're now jumping into the deep end by offering cash wagers on moneyline, point spread, and totals markets on a variety of games. These betting options will be available both before and during the games.

In a chat with the media, co-founder and CEO Joey Levy stated that Betr initially narrowed its focus to micro-betting to speed up its Ohio launch and carve out a distinct reputation as a non-run-of-the-mill operator in the industry.

Levy went on to say that their goal is to bring Betr's betting market coverage up to speed with established operators, which will involve careful and strategic integrations and launches of core markets, parlays, props, and tons of other experiences that sports bettors love.

Levy also mentioned that the new markets will be supplied by Simplebet, another micro-betting venture that Levy was instrumental in establishing. This will be the first time Simplebet has provided such betting opportunities to a sportsbook.

The move to offer more traditional betting markets isn’t a shock. Back in October, Levy shared with an interviewer that the company had plans to "layer in" other offerings.

After its Ohio launch, Betr found its average customer placed over 25 bets on the app, with more than 90% of customers making multiple wagers.

Zero Juice Markets on NCAA Tournament Games

Launched in August last year with a $50 million investment by Levy and Jake Paul, Betr has also made a play for casual sports fans by crafting unique content and dispersing it through its social media channels.

From a gambling standpoint, Betr has been zeroing in on markets in baseball, basketball, and football.

To signal the shift into more traditional sports betting markets, Betr also announced it will offer 0% commissions on all pre-game opportunities for every game in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

With the play-in games just kicked off on Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday, the tournament itself gets underway shortly after noon ET on Thursday, with 32 opening-round games taking place through Thursday night.

Known as March Madness, the NCAA Tournament is one of the most passionately bet-on sports events in the US. Earlier this week, a study by the American Gaming Association revealed that 68 million American adults anticipate placing wagers on tournament games or entering a bracket contest.

Betr Preparing to Conquer Other States

Just a week after securing a sports betting license from the Virginia Lottery Board, Betr made waves by announcing it will offer pregame bets and in-game wagering on moneylines, totals, and point spreads.

It's also been given the green light for an online license in Massachusetts. While the Bay State permitted operators to launch there last week, Levy said the company plans to hold back on debuting the app there for a bit longer.
