Transformation of King's House in Manchester worth £13m concluded
Bruntwood SciTech Unveils Innovation-Focused Workspace at King's House
In the heart of Manchester City Centre, Bruntwood SciTech has completed a significant refurbishment of the historic King's House, transforming it into a modern, design-led workspace. The £13 million project, delivered by Bruntwood SciTech in partnership with L&G and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, has created 36,000 sq ft of workspace.
The redeveloped King's House offers specialist growth support services to businesses, providing direct access to funding, talent, markets, and a network of academic, clinical, and public sector partners. This innovation-focused workspace is already attracting businesses such as Siemens, Oracle, and Treatwell.
Tech-driven legal finance company Nera Capital is among the first to sign up, drawn to the opportunity to join a 1,100-strong community of tech and science businesses. The demand for connected, high-quality workspace continues to grow, as evidenced by the strong demand for King's House and No.3 Circle Square.
King's House, designed by EPR Architects, boasts a combination of heritage design and access to Bruntwood SciTech's UK-wide innovation network. All suites are fully furnished and include kitchens, meeting rooms, project spaces, phone booths, breakout areas, and integrated power. A 2,789 sq ft suite on the ground floor even has its own dedicated entrance, offering a self-contained workspace for around 30 people.
The available suites range from 1,777 sq ft to 6,115 sq ft, with one standout suite offering a rare opportunity for a fully bespoke fit out. Bruntwood SciTech's associate commercial director, Josh Hancock, describes King's House as a "future-proof home for the city's next generation of innovators."
Bruntwood SciTech is hosting an open day at King's House on 18th September, giving existing and prospective customers the chance to experience the space and learn more about joining the workspace community. This event provides an opportunity for businesses to explore the innovative workspace and network with like-minded individuals.
In addition to King's House, Bruntwood SciTech's ongoing investment programme in Manchester city centre includes the refurbishment of Thread Works, No.3 Circle Square, Pall Mall, and the recently completed No.3 Circle Square, which costs £87 million and offers design-led workspace.
As part of a £243m investment programme, Bruntwood SciTech continues to shape Manchester's city centre, providing innovative and connected workspaces that support the growth of businesses and the city's vibrant tech and science sectors.
