Transformation of King's House in Manchester with a £13 million budget has been finalized
King's House in Manchester City Centre Unveiled: A Future-Proof Home for Innovators
After a significant £13 million refurbishment, the historic King's House in Manchester City Centre has been reborn as a modern, design-led workspace. This development, part of Bruntwood SciTech's £243m investment programme in Manchester city centre, offers a blend of thoughtful design, flexibility, sustainability, unrivaled connectivity, and amenity.
Located on King Street West in the St Mary's Parsonage district, the workspace is tailored to support innovation-led businesses in Manchester. EPR Architects designed King's House, with Amspec as the principal contractor, ensuring a seamless blend of the old and the new.
The refurbishment has created 36,000 sq ft of workspace, with suites ranging from 1,777 sq ft to 6,115 sq ft. One standout suite offers a chance for a fully bespoke fit-out. All other suites are fully furnished, complete with kitchens, meeting rooms, project spaces, phone booths, breakout areas, and integrated power.
Bruntwood SciTech's associate commercial director, Josh Hancock, states that King's House is a future-proof home for the city's next generation of innovators. The scheme removes barriers to scaling, offering ambitious, forward-thinking companies a fully fitted, future-ready home in one of Manchester's most exciting growth areas.
Bruntwood SciTech's growth support services are available to businesses at King's House, providing direct access to funding, talent, markets, and a network of academic, clinical, and public sector partners. Tech-driven legal finance company Nera Capital is among the first businesses to sign up for the refurbished King's House.
Bruntwood SciTech will host an open day at King's House on 18th September for existing and prospective customers. This is an opportunity for businesses to experience it first hand and explore the possibilities that King's House offers.
In addition, Bruntwood SciTech has recently completed a £87m refurbishment at No.3 Circle Square, another testament to their commitment to transforming Manchester's city centre.
As for FUEL Manchester 2025, the first four speakers have been unveiled, but they are not directly related to King's House. OBI and Knight Frank are the appointed agents for King's House, but there are no search results indicating which companies have registered to set up their offices in King's House in Manchester.
Bruntwood SciTech, a joint venture between Bruntwood, L&G, and Greater Manchester Pension Fund, delivered the scheme. The upcoming open day at King's House is a promising step towards filling those offices and creating a vibrant, innovative community in the heart of Manchester.
