"Trainers express hopes for their racer's success in the Ebor, stating they've prepared him well and can only pray for better fortune"

Supporters of Hipop De Loire during last year's Ebor took notice of a lone magpie, strolled underneath a series of ladders, and cracked something apart as they continued to watch the race.

In the upcoming Ebor Handicap at York, a host of talented horses will compete for the prestigious title. Among them is Ethical Diamond, who recently triumphed in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

William Buick has been booked for Ethical Diamond in this year's Ebor. The horse's impressive victory at Ascot has raised expectations for a strong showing at York.

Notable contenders also include Hipop De Loire, who is competing in the Ebor three pounds higher than last year's mark. Colin Keane will be in the saddle for Hipop De Loire, and the horse impressed in a maiden hurdle at Galway at the end of July.

Henry de Bromhead, the trainer of Hipop De Loire, is bidding for back-to-back Ebor wins. If successful, he would become the first to achieve this feat in recent years. De Bromhead's Ascot Stakes winner, Ascending, is expected to deliver another strong performance in the Ebor. Despite a 3lb higher mark, Ascending has won his last three races and is in fine form.

Ian Williams, trainer of Real Dream, Enemy, and Oneforthegutter, has high hopes for each of his horses in the Ebor. Real Dream is handicapped to a decent level, while Enemy has a low mark and a good draw. Oneforthegutter has performed well recently despite a poor draw.

Thady Gosden, joint-trainer of French Master, states that the horse's return to a shorter trip should suit him. French Master has been in good form this season and could be a dark horse in the race.

James Tate, trainer of Majestic Warrior, discusses the horse's preparation and expected performance in the Ebor. Majestic Warrior has shown promise in recent races and could challenge for a top finish.

Willie Mullins, who has won the Ebor twice, will be represented by Ethical Diamond, Hipop De Loire, and Charlus. Both Sesenta and Absurde, Mullins' previous Ebor winners, were arguably second strings for the trainer. Charlus was a disappointment in the Copper Horse Stakes, but Mullins will be hoping for a better performance from the horse in the Ebor.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Mr Percy, discusses the horse's preparation and hopes for a good run in the Ebor. Mr Percy has been in good form this season and could be a contender for the win.

The trainer representing the horse Ascending at the Ebor Handicap in York this year is Eve Johnson Houghton. Adrian Keatley, trainer of Kihavah, expresses satisfaction with the horse's form and expects him to be competitive.

Jackfinbar, who was well fancied and the mount of William Buick when only 12th to Absurde in a previous Ebor, will be looking to improve on that performance this year.

The Ebor Handicap at York promises to be an exciting race with a strong field of horses. With several trainers aiming for their first Ebor win and others bidding for back-to-back victories, the race is sure to be a thrilling spectacle.
