In September 2025, the city of Gütersloh welcomed 45 young individuals as they embarked on their careers. This new cohort, a significant addition to the city's workforce, is set to make a valuable contribution across various sectors.

The new hires include 10 dual students pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (General Administrative Service), 2 students in the Bachelor of Arts (Administrative Informatics), 3 trainees for administrative specialists, and 1 specialist in system integration. In addition, this year has seen career starters in the educational, rescue, and fire services begin their training with the city of Gütersloh.

The career-starting event, held in September, provided the new colleagues with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the city administration and its areas of responsibility. They received important information for daily work and made initial contacts with each other during the induction week.

Mayor Matthias Trepper extended a warm welcome to the new career starters, acknowledging that they were joining a large team of over 1,700 employees. He congratulated them for making it in a strong field of applicants. The head of the city administration, however, was not explicitly named in the available search results.

Jürgen Brüggemeier, the head of the Building Regulation Department, and Dilek Altun, the training manager, were among those identified in the city's leadership.

This influx of young talent marks a positive step forward for the city of Gütersloh, as these individuals embark on their careers and contribute to the city's continued growth and development.
