14 people hurt; rescue helicopter deployed - Trailer flips during Ascension Tour event

A group of excursionists were traveling in a covered wagon, called a Kremser, pulled by a tractor near Deuna reservoir. Unfortunately, the covered wagon tipped over, causing an accident.

Fourteen people were hurt in the incident, with two of them having serious injuries. These two individuals were promptly taken to nearby hospitals by two rescue helicopters.

Thüringer Allgemeine reported that six doctors attended to the other injured victims. The police seized the tractor and the Kremser remnants after the incident, and they must now also examine if the driver had the necessary permissions to transport people in the Kremser.

As stated by law, covered wagon rides with tractors are usually forbidden unless a special permit has been granted, such as during public festivals.

Interestingly, a similar incident took place on May 1st in Kandern, Baden-Württemberg, where 29 individuals were hurt, with ten of them suffering severe injuries.
