Tragic rooftop blaze claims woman's life
In the early hours of yesterday morning, a devastating fire broke out in a multi-family home in the peaceful town of Sandhausen, located within the Rhein-Neckar district.
The fire, which started in the attic, quickly spread, causing significant damage to the property, estimated to be around 500,000 euros. The extent of the damage has rendered the home initially uninhabitable.
Sadly, during the fire, an 81-year-old woman suffered severe burn injuries and passed away despite immediate first aid measures. The other residents of the home were able to evacuate unharmed.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigations ongoing. As of this morning, the fire department is actively working to extinguish the ongoing blaze in the attic.
The police reported the incident in the morning, and the fire department has been making concerted efforts to control and extinguish the fire.
