Tragic Eppendorf Fire Claims Life
In the early hours of this morning, a fire broke out in a multi-family home on Weidenhagen street, Eppendorf, Bochum. The incident was reported at around 7 a.m., and the Bochum Fire Department swiftly responded, dispatched a fire engine from the Wattenscheid fire station.
Upon arrival, firefighters could hear a smoke alarm but saw no visible signs of fire or smoke. However, upon further investigation, they found thick black smoke within the affected apartment. Parts of the furniture were on fire.
The alarm level was raised to "Brand 3", and the operation was carried out by 35 personnel from the professional fire brigade, rescue service, and the Eppendorf-Höntrop fire station. The operation was completed after about 1.5 hours.
Sadly, the fire resulted in the death of a resident, a dog, and a cat. The cause of the fire is yet to be disclosed, but the criminal police have initiated investigations into the incident. No information about who caused the fire is available at this time.
