Traffic-ready R10 Ring Road ahead of deadline in full operation
In a significant development, the expansion project on county road R 10 between Schloss Haus and Hagelstadt has been successfully completed, finishing ahead of schedule on August 6, 2025. This project, an investment in future-proof infrastructure in the southern district, is a testament to sustainable planning and careful action.
The roadway in the expansion area has been modernized, with its width increased from 5.50 meters to 6.50 meters. The expanded section, measuring 2.740 meters long, now boasts 1.50-meter-wide shoulders on both sides, providing ample space for safety and convenience.
The expansion project includes more than just roadway expansion. It also encompasses modern rainwater retention and improved drainage. A retention basin was built for sustainable rainwater management, construction of which started at the end of 2024. The roadside drainage system has been redesigned, including ditches up to two meters wide.
To regulate discharge into the Moosgraben, a sedimentation plant with partial flow treatment and bypass was required. The top asphalt layers were milled, damaged areas repaired, and shoulders restored in this section.
Between Mooshof and Hagelstadt, the measures were limited to renewing the asphalt surface. The construction work was carried out by the Fahrner Bauunternehmung GmbH from Barbing.
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger expressed her gratitude to all those involved, especially the construction company and the district office employees, for the timely and high-quality implementation. She highlighted that the successful completion of the project on county road R 10 contributes to its long-term performance.
The funding for this project is provided under the Bavarian Municipal Traffic Funding Act. The total construction costs of the project amount to approximately 1.5 million euros. While the specifics of who carried out the expansion of Kreisstraße R 10 between Schloss Haus and Mooshof and the roof repair section from Mooshof to Hagelstadt are not available, the project's successful completion is undeniable.
This expansion measure on county road R 10 is a significant step towards enhancing the district's infrastructure and ensuring safer and more efficient travel for its residents and visitors.
