Starting from August 25, a portion of Carl-Schüller Street will be closed between Mittelstraße and Bahnhofstraße for construction work. Traffic will be allowed to travel only in one direction towards Bahnhofstraße. This is part of a larger road construction project scheduled to run from August 25 to September 5, 2025, and continuing until the end of October 2025, overseen by the State Construction Office Bayreuth (Staatliches Bauamt Bayreuth).

Meanwhile, St.-Nikolaus-Straße will undergo cable laying work from August 25 to August 29. During this period, the street will be fully closed between Wallstraße and Eichelweg. Local traffic will be allowed up to the construction site, but a detour will be in place via Bamberger Straße and Fantaisiestraße. It is important to note that the cable laying work on St.-Nikolaus-Straße is not related to the construction work on Carl-Schüller Street.

The northern access to the university will be closed from August 27 due to pipeline replacement. The detour for the university will continue to be via Universitätsstraße and the southern access to the university. Traffic coming from Bahnhofstraße or Tunnelstraße will still be rerouted via Bahnhofstraße, Bürgerreuther Straße, Goethestraße, and Karl-Marx-Straße, or via Hohenzollernring and Schulstraße.

For the most up-to-date information on road closures and detours in Bayreuth, please visit the city's construction portal at https://baustellen.our website/. We advise motorists to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during this period. The construction work on Carl-Schüller Street between Mittelstraße and Bahnhofstraße and the pipeline replacement work at the university are expected to last until the end of October 2025.
