Traffic control evaded by a vehicle, resulting in arrest of two individuals
In the city of Dortmund, Germany, an exciting turn of events unfolded on Monday, September 1st, 2025, as a stolen car was recovered following a high-speed chase and subsequent arrests.
The incident began around 19:30 when a patrol unit in Dortmund attempted to stop a car on Altnderer Weg in Lünen. However, the car did not stop and fled the scene, making its escape route narrow down to a nearby residential area.
The car, which was found to be listed as stolen in the police's system, later abandoned, led officers on a chase that ended in Jägerstraße. Here, a 24-year-old suspect was arrested, hiding in a children's play tunnel.
Meanwhile, a second suspect (23 years old) was arrested in Schnakenbrockstraße, in a bike cellar. Both individuals were taken into custody but were released after appearing before a judge due to lack of special reasons for remand.
Investigations revealed that neither of the two suspects had a driver's license, and the license plate of the car was found to be fake. A police helicopter was requested to assist ground officers from the air during the search.
Corresponding charges for driving without a license, trespassing, theft of a motor vehicle, and forgery were filed. The stolen car was secured, and both suspects were taken to Lünen police station for further questioning.
The name or first name of the police officer handling the case of the stolen and fled vehicle with the number 0760 at the Dortmund Police Headquarters is not provided in the available information.
