Friday afternoon witnessed a multi-vehicle rear-end collision on the West Motorway (A1) between Ybbs and Pöchlarn, heading towards Vienna, involving numerous vehicles.

In a sudden turn of events, a multi-vehicle accident occurred on the A1 between Ybbs and Pöchlarn, causing a significant traffic jam that extended to around ten kilometers.

The incident, which took place in a traffic congestion, involved a car colliding with the rear of a truck. As a result, several people, including two children, were taken to nearby hospitals with injuries of unknown severity.

The exact cause of the accident is currently under police investigation. The identities of the officers overseeing the investigation are not publicly disclosed at this time.

The Ybbs/Persenbeug Notarzt-Einsatzfahrzeug (NEF) and Dr. Hoffer were alerted to the scene, and the Blindenmarkt fire department was also called for support.

The authorities temporarily closed the A1 for medical treatment of the injured and vehicle removal. Traffic was diverted to alternative routes, causing delays for motorists in the area.

The emergency services are working diligently to manage the situation and provide necessary aid. More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
