Traffic Accidents on the Main-Tauber Motorway Between Poland and Hungary
In an unexpected turn of events, a collision involving two cars occurred on the A81 near Großrinderfeld on Monday afternoon. According to the Heilbronn Police Headquarters, the incident happened around 1 pm.
The first vehicle involved was a Mercedes-Benz, driven by a 21-year-old individual. The driver veered off the road and collided with the central reservation barrier. As a result, the Mercedes-Benz came to a stop on the left lane and was no longer roadworthy. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further examination.
Shortly after, a driver of a Fiat also collided with the barrier and stopped about 50 meters behind the Mercedes-Benz. Unfortunately, the Fiat driver was seriously injured and was also taken to a hospital. The Fiat had to be towed away, and the cause of its deviation is still under investigation.
The collision resulted in approximately €15,000 worth of damage and two injuries. The Heilbronn Police Headquarters, led by Chief Inspector (KOR) Stefan Schwab, is handling the incident. Chief Inspector Schwab has held the position since June 1, 2023, and was officially installed by Police President Frank Spitzmüller on June 5, 2023.

It is important to note that, according to current knowledge, there was no collision between the Mercedes-Benz and the Fiat. The cause of the Fiat's deviation is still under investigation.
