Toyota’s GR Yaris Honors Ogier’s 9th Rally Title in Ultra-Rare Edition
Toyota has unveiled a special edition of the GR Yaris to honour Sébastien Ogier’s ninth World Rally Championship title. Named the GR Yaris Sébastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition, this limited-run model will be produced in just 200 units globally. The car blends rally-inspired features with unique design touches, celebrating the driver’s record-breaking career.
The limited-edition model is based on the Aero Performance Package version of the GR Yaris. Only 200 units will be made, split equally between Europe and Japan. Japanese buyers will need to enter a lottery to secure one, while European allocation details remain undisclosed.
Under the skin, the car includes two custom all-wheel-drive settings: ‘Seb’ mode, fine-tuned with Ogier’s input, and ‘Morizo’ mode, a nod to Toyota president Akio Toyoda’s racing alias. Visually, it stands out with Black Gravite paint, matte black wheels, and Ogier’s signature blue brake calipers. Inside, the cabin features a rally-style steering wheel, tricolour stitching, and a leather-wrapped vertical handbrake. Toyota has confirmed that the model will not reach the US market, though a future GR Corolla with a similar ‘Seb’ mode remains a possibility. Production is set to begin later this year, though pricing has yet to be announced.
The GR Yaris Sébastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition marks a rare, performance-focused tribute to one of rallying’s greatest drivers. With just 200 units available, demand is expected to be high. Toyota’s decision to exclude the US suggests a focus on markets with stronger rally heritage, while the potential for a GR Corolla variant keeps hopes alive for American fans.
