The annual Pumpkin Festival is currently underway in Lichtenwalde Castle Park near Chemnitz, with a host of exciting new additions this year.

The festival, themed "Circus", showcases a variety of decorative and edible pumpkin sculptures, including a horse, an acrobat, a tiger, and a four-meter-tall white rabbit. These impressive figures have been painstakingly created by artists, gardeners, and numerous volunteers who have been working for weeks.

New attractions this year include a walk-through pumpkin maze and an educational trail about pumpkins. For the little ones, a straw play area has been set up.

Organizers have spent weeks building the four-meter-tall pumpkin figures, which depict circus animals and performers. In total, 18 sculptures have been made from thousands of pumpkins, transforming the baroque park into a vibrant and lively arena.

The Pumpkin Festival will run until November 2nd, providing visitors with plenty of time to enjoy the spectacle. The festival kicked off today under a clear blue sky, promising a delightful autumn experience for all.

While no specific information about the edible aspect of the sculptures was provided, it's safe to assume that the edible pumpkins have been used to create the stunning decorative pieces on display.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the park and immerse themselves in the captivating world of the Pumpkin Festival. With its mix of art, education, and fun, this event is a must-visit for anyone in the area.
