Tournament Title Decision Hinges on Absence of Scottie Scheffler, with a Playoff Determining the Champion Among Tour Championship Notable Bets

The 2025 Tour Championship is fast approaching, and with Scottie Scheffler out of the picture, the race to claim the $10 million prize is wide open.

Without Scheffler, the best chances to win the prestigious event lie with players like Russell Henley and Sepp Straka, who have shown strong form and consistent performance throughout the PGA Tour season and playoffs. Russell Henley, who was leading ahead of Scheffler at the PGA Tour finale in Atlanta, and Sepp Straka, ranked eighth in the FedEx Cup standings, are top contenders in Scheffler’s absence.

Other contenders include Maverick McNealy, who finished third at the BMW Championship and has numerous third-place finishes throughout the season. McNealy has odds of +2500 to win the Tour Championship without Scottie Scheffler at BetMGM.

Viktor Hovland, who won the 2023 Tour Championship with a score of 19-under, and Rory McIlroy, who won the 2021 Tour Championship by a single stroke, are also expected to be in the mix. They will be joined by Tommy Fleetwood, who has odds of +275 to have the lowest tournament score in Group A, which consists of McIlroy, Fleetwood, Ludvig Aberg, Russell Henley, and Viktor Hovland.

If you're interested in wagering on the Tour Championship, various special bets are available through sportsbooks like BetMGM. These include the tournament winner without Scheffler, a hole-in-one, and the lowest single-round score. The Tour Championship may see a close finish, given its tendency to create tight races. For instance, the 2021 Tour Championship was won by Rory McIlroy by a single stroke, with Jon Rahm and Kevin Na finishing top at 14-under.

Andrew Novak, who finished T6th two weeks ago at the FedEx St Jude Championship, will play with Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley on day one of the Tour Championship. The Tour Championship might feature the top-30 players from the PGA Tour's 2025 season.

The Tour Championship in 2025 will follow the tradition of all 30 players starting at level-par. The FedEx Cup Playoffs has only one tournament remaining before the final showdown at East Lake Golf Club. The Tour Championship winning margin to be four strokes or more has a probability of +240 at BetMGM.

Harry Hall, who has odds of +350 for a Top-5 finish and +3300 for being the First-Round Leader, is another player to watch out for. Collin Morikawa finished second overall in the 2024 Tour Championship, one clear of Sahith Theegala in third place.

As the 2025 Tour Championship approaches, all eyes will be on the contenders to see who can dethrone Scottie Scheffler and claim the coveted title. With various special bets available, it promises to be an exciting event for both players and spectators alike.
