Toshiba has entered the tablet market with its latest offering, the Folio 100. This device is positioned in the hot iPad segment and marks Toshiba's first serious foray into the 10-inch tablet segment running the Android operating system.
The Folio 100 boasts a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Under the hood, it is equipped with a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
The tablet also comes with a variety of features that make it stand out. It runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo version of the operating system, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Folio 100 includes the Opera web browser in addition to the Android browser, providing users with more options for surfing the web.
The Folio 100 also features Fring, an application that allows for voice and video calls. Additionally, it supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is compliant with Adobe Flash 10.1.
Unfortunately, the Android Market will not be available for the Folio 100. However, Toshiba has introduced its own apps and the Toshiba Market as an alternative.
