Title Unaltered: Beth (part 1)
In a cosy studio apartment, Beth finds herself in the midst of a vibrant and unexpected family expansion. The addition of two lively budgerigars, Marge and Harvey, has brought a new symphony of life and colour to her home.
Beth's journey with these feathered companions began when she acquired Marge, a vibrant budgie, from Maria, a fiery Latina woman. Maria, who was on HRT, found herself unable to care for Marge due to unforeseen circumstances – her family was evicted. Maria, not wanting Marge to be taken and potentially destroyed, passed her on to Beth.
The arrival of Marge marked the start of a new chapter for Beth. At first, she was unsure of how to care for her new pet. But, with the help of a book titled 'budgerigars for dummies', Beth embarked on a learning journey, deciding to be serenaded by her new clan instead.
As the days passed, Beth found herself faced with a dilemma. It was 6:15, and she had to choose between her workout or spending time with her new budgerigars. In the end, the sound of Marge and Harvey singing together, reminiscent of a rainforest, won her over. Beth picked up her workout gear and decided to postpone her exercise routine.
In search of companionship for Marge, Beth made a decision two weeks later. She ventured out to acquire another budgie, this time a blue and grey bird named Harvey. The two budgerigars, Harvey and Marge, were an odd pairing, with Harvey being more upbeat and full of life, while Marge was sultry, distant, and seemed depressed.
Despite their differences, the two budgerigars quickly formed a bond. They were often seen standing side by side on a wooden stick in their cage, looking happy together. Beth smiled with glee as she watched her new family grow.
Beth had already been acquainted with the name Marge, as she had a green and yellow budgie named Marge before the arrival of the new pair. Now, with two Marge's and a Harvey, Beth found herself surrounded by a chorus of melodious songs, filling her apartment with joy and life.
As the sun began to rise each day, Beth woke up to the sound of her feathered friends chirping and singing, reminding her of the beautiful family she had come to cherish. Beth's life, once quiet and solitary, was now filled with the songs of her budgerigars, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
