Time for some new tunes from Tame Impala, who've declared their upcoming album, "Deadbeat," set to hit the airwaves after a five-year hiatus.
In an exciting turn of events, Kevin Parker, the creative force behind Tame Impala, has announced the release of the band's first album in five years – "Deadbeat." The album, consisting of twelve tracks, was recorded in Fremantle and at Parker's studio in Injidup, Western Australia.
Two summer releases preceded the announcement of Deadbeat: "End of the Summer" in July and "Loser" at an unspecified later date. Both tracks are now confirmed to be included in the album.
"End of the Summer" is accompanied by a music video that uses split-screen to mirror the project's doubled vantage point. The "Loser" video, on the other hand, features a quick switch between Joe Keery and Kevin Parker, with Keery briefly trading places with Parker to play a dejected burnout.
Joe Keery, who records as Djo, is not only involved in the music aspect of the album but also in its visuals. He played a significant role in the "Loser" music video and the "End of the Summer" video, lending his creative touch to the visual language for the rollout of Tame Impala's album, Deadbeat.
The studio body of work for Deadbeat is shaped by place and subculture, specifically bush doof culture and Western Australia's rave history. The album is inspired by this unique blend of music and culture, promising a fresh and exciting sound from Tame Impala.
With the release of Deadbeat, Tame Impala opens a clear next step for their catalog, defined by the material already on hand rather than promise or projection. The album is set to be a significant addition to their discography, further cementing their place in the music industry.
As we eagerly await the release of Deadbeat, the anticipation builds with each new clip and music video. The lean and pointed visual language used in the rollout of the album promises a captivating and immersive experience for fans.
Stay tuned for more updates on Tame Impala's "Deadbeat" album, set to release soon.
