Three individuals sustained injuries in a shootout occurring at a Border Patrol facility in Texas.

A shoot-out occurred at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas on July 8. The incident involved an armed individual, federal, and local law enforcement officers.

According to reports, the shoot-out took place at approximately 5:53 a.m. McAllen police received calls about shots heard outside of the U.S. Border Patrol station. The individual who began the shootout was identified as 27-year-old Ryan Louis Mosqueda by the FBI.

The shoot-out resulted in injuries to two officers and one Border Patrol employee. The McAllen police officer was shot in the leg during the incident. Fortunately, all three injured individuals were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

The suspect was killed during the incident. The National Border Patrol Council expressed gratitude for prayers for agents and personnel and stated that justice will be served. The U.S. Border Patrol agents and law enforcement partners will not back down, as stated by the National Border Patrol Council.

Targeted violence will not be tolerated and will be dealt with swiftly, according to the National Border Patrol Council. The Homeland Security Department announced the incident in an X post and has since updated the story with additional information.

This incident comes after the tragic shooting of U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland in January. Maland was shot and killed while performing a traffic stop in Vermont near the Canadian border. The trial for the woman charged in connection with Maland's death is ongoing.

The National Border Patrol Council emphasised that they will not tolerate such acts of violence and that they will continue to serve and protect the borders of the United States.
