Three individuals sustain minor injuries following a hydroplaning incident on the A73 highway
In the Coburg district, two separate accidents occurred on the A73 highway, causing minor injuries to five individuals and estimated damage of approximately 70,000 euros.
The first accident took place in the afternoon between the Ebersdorf bei Coburg and Rödental exits. A 25-year-old driver lost control of her car and collided with a median barrier. The driver sustained minor injuries.
Approximately 100 meters before the site of the first accident, a second accident occurred. A 47-year-old driver lost control of his car and broke through more than 40 meters of the outer guardrail, crashing into the central guardrail. Both the driver and his 29-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The second accident caused damage to more than 40 meters of the outer barrier.
The police reported that three people were lightly injured in the two accidents. No further details about the cause of the accidents were provided.
The total number of people lightly injured in the two accidents is now five. The authorities are currently investigating the incidents to determine their causes and any potential contributing factors. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits while driving on the A73 highway.
