Three High-Value Individuals and One Street-Level Offender apprehended during a P1.7 million anti-narcotics operation in Dingle, Iloilo.
In a significant development in the fight against illegal drugs, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) - Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) conducted an anti-drug operation in Barangay Ilajas, Dingle, Iloilo on August 30, 2025.
The operation, which was carried out after almost a month of monitoring and surveillance based on information from concerned citizens, resulted in the arrest of three individuals. Two high-value individuals (HVIs), alias Junjun and alias Pol, and one street-level individual (SVI), alias Opel, were identified as residents of Barangay Agsalanan, Dingle; Barangay Licu-an, Dingle; and Barangay Ilajas, Dingle, respectively.
The authorities confirmed that the suspects sourced their supplies from Metro Manila and distributed them in Dingle and nearby towns. The confiscated items included approximately 250 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P1.7 million, six sachets of shabu, a caliber .38 revolver, and other non-drug items.
Police Major Dadje Delima led the operation, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) was responsible for the arrest of the high-value drug criminals. Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, provincial director of Ippo, commended the PDEU for the operation, stating, "The success of this operation is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our men and women in uniform, as well as the support of our community."
Community support was highlighted in the fight against illegal drugs, with concerned citizens providing vital information that led to the operation's success. Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), praised the success of the joint operation, stating, "This operation is a clear example of the power of community cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs."
The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act of 2013. The suspects are currently detained at the Dingle Municipal Police Station.
