In a turn of events that promises to further strain the relationship between the brothers, Prince Harry is reportedly considering a documentary about their late mother, Princess Diana, with streaming giant Netflix. The project, if released, is planned for 2027 to mark 30 years since Diana's tragic death.

The Duke of Sussex's potential documentary has become a sensitive and coveted story to tell, given the emotional depth and public interest surrounding Diana's life and death. However, some believe that the documentary could lead to a further deterioration of Prince Harry's relationship with Prince William.

The brothers have reportedly kept Diana's memory sacred and private since her death in 1997. But the planned documentary, which could potentially delve into sensitive family matters, may be seen as a betrayal by William, according to commentator Nick Ede. He also suggests that William may perceive the documentary as a way for Harry to cash in on the anniversary of Diana's death.

The relationship between Harry and William reportedly soured when William objected to Harry's decision to marry Meghan Markle. This strain continued even after Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to America. The brothers are not currently on speaking terms, due to Harry's criticism of William in his memoir Spare, and other explosive claims made by Harry and Meghan after moving to the U.S.

Samara Gill, another commentator, shares similar concerns about the documentary. She believes that Harry and Meghan may "butcher" Diana's story with their own perspective, and that the brothers sharing their side of the story could potentially lead to a disaster.

However, the documentary, if released, could also offer a unique and personal insight into Diana's life and the impact she had on her sons. Only time will tell how this decision will affect the already strained relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William.
