Third Man Records, owned by Jack White, inaugurates a temporary shop in Paris
Music lovers in Paris have a treat in store this weekend, as Third Man Records, the renowned label known for its wide range of releases and unique approach, is opening a pop-up store in the city.
The store, located near La Cigale and Le Trianon, venues where label founder Jack White is set to perform, will be open from 9am-5pm each day from 21-23 February 2025. The idea for the pop-up store came directly from Third Man Records itself, as part of its experimentation with such ventures across the UK.
Third Man Records has made a name for itself with a diverse collection of releases, including The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, Jack White solo records, and many other artists. The Paris pop-up store will offer a selection of these records, as well as vinyl, limited-editions, merchandise, books, guitar pedals, turntables, and more for purchase.
Visitors to the store can expect daily entertainment, with DJs spinning tunes, pedal demos by guest guitarists, and many other surprises. On Saturday at 2pm, there will even be a demonstration of Third Man's range of guitar pedals (all designed and used by Jack White), with a special guest guitarist possibly participating.
The design of the Third Man stores is carefully considered, with a focus on three sets of colours: yellow and black, blue, and red and white. The Paris pop-up store will feature a blue, white, and red wall, recreating the French flag.
Third Man Records has recently welcomed Hotline TNT, Snooper, Sheer Mag, and The Belair Lip Bombs to their roster, and the Paris pop-up store will sell classic Third Man vinyl, merchandise, and guitar pedals, as well as some rare and limited releases.
The pop-up store is an extension of Third Man's commitment to growing the label and creating opportunities for upcoming artists at their venue Third Man London 'The Blue Basement'. The label has hosted live music recorded direct-to-acetate in their Nashville and Detroit venues, such as Father John Misty, Parquet Courts, and Laura Marling.
Third Man Records has also reissued France Gall's catalogue, and the pop-up store will offer a glimpse into the label's rich history and its continued focus on original ideas, passion, and a distinct brand identity synonymous with the colours yellow and black, blue, and red and white.
However, there is no information about plans for a permanent store in Paris at this time. For now, music fans in the city can look forward to an exciting weekend at the Third Man Records pop-up store.
