Theater Emma: These days, one can casually check over one's back
The City and Regional Archaeology of Osnabrück is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebrations, they are inviting the public to join them on a series of archaeological city walks. These walks, titled "From the Arch Bridge to the Cathedral", will offer a unique opportunity to explore the historical development of the city.
There are two themed tours available, each providing a behind-the-scenes look at the workspaces, restoration workshop, and artifact archive. The meeting point for these tours is the City and Regional Archaeology at Lotter Straße 6 (emma-theater), lower entrance, or in front of the entrance to the Museum Quarter Osnabrück at Lotter Straße 2, depending on the tour.
The city walks cover the area from the Arch Bridge to the Cathedral in Osnabrück and last approximately 90 minutes. The maximum number of participants for each tour is 15. The tour dates are: August 16 (2 PM), August 21 (3:30 PM), and September 1 (3:30 PM).
For those interested in joining, registration can be done via email at [email protected]. It's important to note that these city walks are separate events from the themed tours mentioned earlier.
In addition to these city walks, the anniversary celebrations will also feature numerous events and exhibitions. The leadership of the archaeological construction site in Osnabrück is held by Dr. Michael Rind.
The city walks are tagged under Archaeology and Tour and are a great way to learn about the rich history of Osnabrück. So, if you're looking for an engaging and educational experience, consider joining one of these city walks and be a part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the City and Regional Archaeology of Osnabrück.
