In the heart of Germany, the town of Garbsen hosted a remarkable cycling event named STADTRADELN from June 18 to July 7, 2025. The competition, organised for cycling enthusiasts, saw the participation of 1,027 cyclists, grouped into 51 main teams.

Mayor Claudio Provenzano praised the event's success, singling out Harald Granow's performance as remarkable. Granow, the top individual cyclist, completed an impressive 3,027.8 kilometers during the competition. His feat not only showcased his dedication to cycling but also contributed significantly to the environment.

The collective effort of the cyclists resulted in a total of 212,429 kilometers being cycled in Garbsen. This massive pedal power translated to around 35 tons of CO2 savings, making a positive impact on the environment.

To acknowledge the participants' efforts, a thank-you event was held, which included a bike grill, and a raffle of prizes among the attending team captains. The raffle saw the distribution of water bottles, backpacks, STADTRADELN bags, t-shirts, and more.

In addition to the individual awards, the best classes of secondary schools and primary schools were recognised for the first time. The Gail S. Halvorsen School received the award for the best class operation for the first time this year at the Inge-Deutschkron-Preis ceremony on July 21, 2025, in Berlin. The Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium's class 9b and Grundschule Stelingen were also honoured, receiving 100 euros in cash and various prizes.

The STADTRADELN cycling competition in Garbsen was more than just a sporting event; it was a celebration of community spirit, environmental consciousness, and the joy of cycling. The event's success serves as a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring love for cycling in Garbsen.
