"The individuals removed the children, and left them with a feline."

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Elena Antiosova, a single mother from Russia, is seeking answers about her sons, Andrey and Kirill, who were mobilized and have since gone missing.

Elena, who raised her twins on her own, had the unfortunate experience of both her sons receiving mobilization notices from the local military commissariat at their workplace on September 22, 2022. Just a day later, they were taken away by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).

By June 2023, both Andrey and Kirill were captured, leaving Elena in a state of uncertainty about their whereabouts and well-being. Despite her repeated appeals, Elena has received no response from the president or other officials.

In a bid to bring attention to her plight, Elena recorded two detailed video appeals to Russian President Putin, pleading for information about the illegal mobilization of her sons and their current whereabouts.

The situation is not unique to Elena. Other families are also grappling with the same issue. Maxim, a concerned citizen, wrote that appealing to the conscience of Russian officials is inherently useless, while Ilya echoed Elena's sentiments, stating that Andrey and Kirill left due to mobilization, not by their own will.

Meanwhile, Olesya Podlegayeva wrote that Margarita Simonian helps many, suggesting a glimmer of hope for those seeking assistance. However, the "Window" editorial painted a grim picture after the large prisoner exchange in May 2025, reporting that the relatives of the returned soldiers claimed their loved ones were not given a day at home but were taken back to the front, including the heavily wounded.

Lyudmila, another mother, shared her story, stating that her son was mobilized, and her granddaughter has been without her father since he was mobilized when she was just 8 months old.

Elena, in a statement, declared that by their inaction, the Russian authorities and military will force her to go to Ukraine and retrieve her sons herself if they do not provide her with answers soon.

The situation remains a cause for concern, with families across Russia left in the dark about the fate of their loved ones who were mobilized. Elena's story serves as a poignant reminder of the human cost of conflict and the urgent need for transparency and accountability from those in power.
