Hardened form of sap from some trees - The funding for the "Witches' broom" is on the rise.

It's reported that the biggest witches' broom in the world is under construction on the southern part of the Harz Mountains, standing at approximately 70 meters high. This tower-like structure takes the shape of a witches' broom, offering visitors a stunning view of the forests, meadows, and mountains as far as Wurmberg and the Brocken. On Tuesday, a crane placed the first part of a shaft for the elevator in Rothesütte (in the Nordhausen district) to kick-start the steel structure's build.

As per the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, the Harz Witches' Broom will be the focal point of the proposed "Harz Witches' Kingdom." This magical realm caters to young and old with a playful adventure world and a witching exhibition. The Rothesütte witches' broom observation tower is really not just a hiking destination - it offers more, claims Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee (SPD). The potential influx of more tourists to the famed Harz Mountains could be a result of this unique attraction.

The project's whole completion is set for the following year. By then, approximately 2560 steel components will be installed, while bolts numbering over 22,300 will be utilized for creating the 452-ton steel structure. In light of the increased construction expenses, the projected budget is now €11.3 million. Tiefensee shared that an additional €3.9 million in tourism funding will be allocated to the "Harz Witches' Kingdom." Hence, the total funding amounts to €10.1 million.
