The European Commission unveils a fresh endeavor, aimed at enhancing the standard of living within the European Union.
The Crime Prevention Association of Gießen is inviting applications and nominations for the Kriminalpräventionspreis 2026, a prize aimed at recognising commitment against crime and violence in the region. This award, first presented in 2024, is supported by the district of Gießen, the city of Gießen, the Police Presidency of Middle Hesse, and the State School Office.
The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2025. Groups or individuals who have made significant contributions to crime prevention within the Gießen region are encouraged to apply. Projects in various sectors, such as school, youth, neighbourhood, association work, elderly care, sports, and others, are sought for the prize. A brief description of the project, not exceeding one A4 page, is sufficient for application.

The Crime Prevention Association, in cooperation with the city of Gießen and the district of Gießen, will award the Crime Prevention Prize in 2026. The jury for the award includes high-ranking members, including Landratin Anita Schneider and Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher.
Since 1992, the Crime Prevention Association of Gießen has been supporting projects in schools, kindergartens, and associations, aiming to highlight actions taken in the region.
