Police Conduct Weapons Control Operation at Lübeck Hauptbahnhof

On Monday, August 25, 2025, a joint operation was carried out at Lübeck Hauptbahnhof by the 2nd Police Precinct, the Federal Police, and the Municipal Ordinance Service. The operation aimed to enforce the ban on weapons and knives in public transportation.

From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, officers checked passenger traffic in the area of Lübeck Hauptbahnhof. During this operation, a total of four administrative offenses under the Weapons Act were detected, involving knives.

One individual was found to have committed both an administrative offense and a criminal offense. This person was wanted for arrest and was taken into custody. No new stolen items were secured during this operation, as stated in the previous paragraph.

The person arrested was a 34-year-old man wanted for breaking into several luggage lockers at Hamburg’s main station and Altona between August 31 and September 4. He was caught after video evidence was analyzed and confessed to the crimes, now held in custody for aggravated theft.

The operation did not reveal the reason for the focus on Lübeck Hauptbahnhof or any previous similar operations in the area. However, the police intend to continue conducting such control operations to enforce the existing weapons ban.

No additional details about the number of individuals checked, other criminal offenses detected, or actions taken were provided in this paragraph. It is worth noting that a stolen bicycle was secured during the operation.
