In the upcoming Regionalliga Bayern match on Friday, September 5, 2025, FC Memmingen will travel to the Maierhofener Bau-Stadion in Leiblfing-Hankhofen to face off against SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing.

Currently in 10th place with seven points from five games, FC Memmingen will be looking to improve their standing in the league. However, their recent form has been less than ideal, as they suffered a 1:4 loss at home against Bayern Munich U23 in their last game.

SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing, on the other hand, is currently in 14th place with five points from six games. The team, which hails from the municipality of Leiblfing near Straubing with 4,350 inhabitants and 51 municipal districts, has had a challenging start to the season, with one win, two draws, and three losses. Their goal difference stands at 4:10.

Coached by Tobias Beck, SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing achieved promotion to the Regionalliga in 2022/23 but had to leave it again a year later. They returned as champions of the Bayernliga Nord in 2023/24 and just managed to stay in the league with a 16th place finish, thanks to a relegation playoff win against Bayernliga side SV Erlbach.

This will be the first time FC Memmingen will face SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing. The game could have taken a different course if Nico Nollenberger's shot after a Memmingen attack had gone in instead of missing by a whisker. In the end, the match was decided with a penalty converted by Heinz (70th minute) to make it 1:3.

FC Memmingen's coach, Matthias Guenes, criticized his team's overly offensive approach during the game. Despite this, FC Memmingen has shown promise against top teams from Nuremberg and Munich, with two wins, one draw, and two losses, and a goal difference of 6:7 (four goals against the "little Bayern").

Pascal Maier scored Memmingen's equalizer from a lucky rebound (38th minute), but Bayern Munich U23 took the lead through Heinz in a one-on-one situation (28th minute) and again through another goal by Heinz (34th minute).

As both teams look to secure a win, the match between FC Memmingen and SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing promises to be an exciting one. Stay tuned for updates on this and other Regionalliga Bayern matches.
