Will we also see this idiosyncratic cheering from the two of them at the European Championships this summer?

Schlotterbeck and Füllkrug are mentioned in the news item. - The atmosphere following their European Championship nominations.

After 24-year-old Nico Schlotterbeck and Niclas Füllkrug (31) were declared to represent Germany in the summer's European Championship, Füllkrug shares that the confirmation wasn't a shock. He mentioned, "During the last training sessions, I felt that things were going pretty well for the European Championship. Then came the final confirmation, but it somehow felt clear already." Although it wasn't unexpected, his excitement is undeniable. Füllkrug states, "Having a home European Championship in the middle of my career is truly a blessing. The next two months are going to be incredible."

His situation is similar for Nico Schlotterbeck, who has been selected for the first time under coach Julian Nagelsmann (36). The defender's excitement is palpable, as he says, "I'm beyond proud to be part of the home European Championship. It's a dream come true."

Füllkrug announced his standardization himself on the radio

There was recent uncertainty regarding Schlotterbeck's potential inclusion due to his lack of recognition under Nagelsmann. He shares, "Internally, I was worried and had my doubts with family and friends, as I've never been nominated under him before." However, his remarkable performances, particularly in the Champions League, have caught the eye of the national team coach. Despite not being guaranteed a regular starting spot, he's content to contribute in any way possible. "Jonathan Tah (28) is already the first defender for the European Championships and Antonio Rüdiger's (31) nomination is more or less set in stone, as they're both in top form and well-established under Nagelsmann. Tah and Rüdiger have been performing well and are key players in Nagelsmann's team. Schlotterbeck is fine with taking a backseat. "What counts most for me is that we succeed as a team, whether on the pitch or off it."

Schlotterbeck's last appearance in a DFB shirt was in the 4-1 defeat to Japan on September 9, 2023

For the moment, the team's primary focus is on Saturday's final Bundesliga match against Darmstadt, where they hope for a celebratory farewell game for veteran player Marco Reus (34).
