Thanathorn's Move Forward Party Supports Government, Conditional on Pheu Thai's Compliance

In a significant development in Thai politics, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, Chairman of the Move Forward Party, announced on Monday that his party would support a government. This announcement comes after a series of discussions and requests from political heavyweights, particularly Thaksin Shinawatra.

Thanathorn revealed that he had a discussion with former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra about a potential coalition government with Pheu Thai and the People's Party. However, it's important to note that the leader of the People's Party has already stated that Pheu Thai has not contacted them officially.

The People's Party, led by Thanathorn, has set two conditions for their support of a prime ministerial candidate. Firstly, they demand the dissolution of parliament within four months. Secondly, they seek a referendum to amend the constitution within that period.

If Pheu Thai can accept these terms, Thanathorn stated that there's no need for further discussions between him and the party. Instead, they can talk directly to the People's Party.

This development could potentially shift the political landscape in Thailand, as the Move Forward Party, known for its progressive stance, joins the fray of political alliances. The outcome of these negotiations and the parties' willingness to meet these conditions will be closely watched by the Thai public and the international community.
