The automotive world is abuzz with the arrival of the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, a new player aiming to make a significant impact in the luxury midsize SUV market. Assembled in the Changan Hangzhou Assembly Plant in Hangzhou, China, the Nautilus measures itself primarily against the Cadillac XT5, as well as premium cars like the Volvo XC90.

Under the hood, the base model Nautilus boasts a 250 hp four-cylinder engine, which, while less than some of its rivals like the base BMW X5, provides a quiet and comfortable ride. Bumps in the Normal drive mode do not pose any hazards for the driver or passengers. For those seeking more power, more expensive trims of the Nautilus offer a hybrid powertrain, delivering a total of 310 hp. The added electric power in the hybrid Nautilus feels seamless and much smoother than the gas engine.

The interior of the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus feels more luxurious compared to previous models, with the seats offering air, heat, massage, and the ability to change shape in various ways. The steering wheel is a rounded square shape and smaller than normal, but it is also plusher.

The headline feature of the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus is its 48-inch front-dash-spanning screen, a stunning display that sets it apart from many competitors. The Nautilus also comes equipped with BlueCruise, Ford's "hands-free" highway driving system that is Level 2 autonomous, for four years at no additional cost.

The Nautilus aims to be included in the conversation with luxury SUVs like the Audi Q8, Genesis GV80, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, Porsche Cayenne, and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. It surpasses many of its competitors in the luxury SUV market, offering an impressive EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined, a feat for a vehicle weighing over 4,500 pounds.

The 2025 Lincoln Nautilus was introduced in 2024 as a new model, and the vehicle reviewed was priced starting at $53,940. The example loaned for a week was priced at $71,215 with options included.

Looking ahead, the second generation Lincoln Nautilus is set for release in the 2026 model year. It features a complete redesign and will be available starting in 2026, promising to be an excellent addition to the luxury midsize SUV market and a demand for attention.
